Kate Winslet won best supporting actress Golden Globe for her role on Steve Jobs. The night was sweet for brit stars; Singer Sam Smith won for his Bond song Writing's on the Wall from Spectre.
The ceremony was hosted by British comedian Ricky Gervais. Kate thanked husband for her support, she said: “Wonderful husband Ned, my everything, you make it all possible. Thanks for always being up for the adventure.”
Singer Sam Smith said at accepting his golden prize: “This has been the most interesting night of my life, this is amazing.”
There were more surprises, as Sylvester Stallone unexpectedly won the best supporting actor for his Rocky sequel Creed. At 69, he seemed visibly shocked as he accepted the award. he said: "I am the sum total of everyone I’ve ever met.
“Last time I was here [in] 1977, I was kinda hit by tumbleweeds. The view is so beautiful now.
“I wanna thank my imaginary friend, Rocky Balboa, for being the best friend I ever had.”
Another surprise was Lady Gaga winning a best actress prize for her role as The Countess in TV show American Horror Story: Hotel, leaving Di Caprio with a funny face. She burst into tears while thanking American Horror writer Ryan Murphy.
