Duncan James is convinced he saw a ghost when he was a teenager.
The 39-year-old actor and singer is set to star in \'Celebrity Ghost Hunt Live\', but has revealed that any spirits he sees whilst on the 5STAR show later this month won\'t be the first supernatural experience he\'s had, as he claims he once saw a ghost whilst on his way to school.
He said: "I thought I saw a ghost once. It was an old lady walking towards me, we used to live in Devon in the fields, and I was going to school in the morning, getting on my moped and I looked back and she was gone, it was so weird.
"I went into the house and asked my mum if we had anyone on the campsite and she said, \'no we\'re closed there\'s no one here\', and I swear I saw someone walking towards me then in that split second I turned around to grab my helmet she was gone.
"I was walking down the path shouting, \'hello, hello\' and there was no one there. It was really creepy and freaked me out."
It\'s not just spirits that the \'Hollyoaks\' star claims to have seen either, as he is adamant that when he was 12 he witnessed an alien spaceship in the sky.
He recalled: "I was about 12 years old and I was riding my bike back from my friend\'s house. I rode over a bridge and I remember hearing this low buzzing sound and thinking \'what\'s that\', and as I came out the other side [of the bridge] I saw a UFO in the sky and I thought, \'no f***ing way\'.
"I got on my bike and pedalled as fast as I could and it just zipped off. I still swear I saw a UFO, what else was it? Unless it was some government experiment or something that we still don\'t know about, but it freaked me out so much I ran into the house as fast as I could and I was in hysterics."
The former Blue singer admits that whilst he was brought up in a strictly Catholic household, he believes strongly in the existence of ghosts.
Speaking to Mirror Online, he said: "I\'ve always kind of grown up with the belief of spirits and that angels are with us and I have a very strong religion.
"I was brought up as a strict Catholic all my life - even though I\'m kind of more lapse these days with certain Catholicism rules - but I do have a big open spirituality and I do believe there are ghosts out there.
"When you go somewhere that\'s haunted and you believe as I do it can be quite interesting. You kind of almost want to see a ghost even though you\'d actually s**t yourself if you did."
