Joe McFadden loves rollercoasters

Joe McFadden has been on rollercoasters "all around the world".

The 42-year-old actor is a real thrill seeker and has crammed in as many visits to theme parks as he possibly could.

But Joe was left "terrified" when he tried out the new Wicker Man ride - the first rollercoaster to merge wood and fire - at Alton Towers on Friday (16.03.18).

He said afterwards: "It was really good and really terrifying. There might have been a bit of screaming. I love rollercoasters, I\'ve been to all of them in this country and I\'ve been to the ones in the states and all around the world, I love them. Yes Wicker Man is definitely a hit!"

And the \'Strictly Come Dancing\' winner - who loved the ride so much, he went on it six times - wasn\'t the only star to brave the cold to try out the resort\'s latest attraction.

\'Coronation Street\' actress Lucy Fallon "really enjoyed" the ride and it gave her the queasy feeling she looks for on a rollercoaster.

She said: "I do love rollercoasters, it\'s that feeling when your stomach flips that I like so much. I really enjoyed riding the Wicker Man."

Singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor and her husband Richard Jones also had an "extremely fun" night trying out the ride.

The \'Murder on the Dancefloor\' hitmaker shared a photo from the event on Instagram and wrote: "Last night @richardjonesface and I went on the new #wickerman ride @altontowers hence my pagan floral headdress and lavender

"I love a rollercoaster and this one is brilliant! Fast and smooth and just the right amount of thrill.(sic)"

And her spouse posted: "Extremely fun night at the opening of #wickermanride @altontowers with @sophieellisbextor Such a great movie which has been turned into a brilliantly theatrical and thrilling rollercoaster ride. Loved it! (sic)"

Other stars in attendance at the launch - which saw Roman Kemp DJ on a fire-adorned stage - included Rag\'n\'Bone Man, Matt Terry, Kieron Richardson and Mikey North.
