Simon Cowell doesn't get BGT jokes

Simon Cowell has to have comedians\' jokes "explained" to him on \'Britain\'s Got Talent\'.

Fellow judge David Walliams claims his friend "doesn\'t live in the real world" so doesn\'t understand a lot of the references used in gags by the comic auditionees, so panellist Amanda Holden has to help him out.

Speaking to the new issue of OK! magazine, David - who is also joined on the four person panel by Alesha Dixon - said: "Whenever we have a comedian on the show, I don\'t sit next to Simon but I can see Amanda explaining the jokes to him because he doesn\'t live in the real world. There was one comic who sang a song about a bag for life, and of course Simon\'s not been in a supermarket since 1982 so he has no idea you\'re supposed to have these plastic bags you reuse.

"He\'s probably the only person in Britain who doesn\'t know what a bag for life is - I bet even the queen knows what a bag for life is!"

The 46-year-old funnyman loves it when auditionees "drag" him up on stage - but isn\'t impressed if the acts get buzzed off stage when he\'s by their side.

He said: "I often get dragged up on stage which is quite fun - apart from one time I got dragged up on stage and the audience started booing me because they didn\'t like the act. I got buzzed off as well so I couldn\'t help taking it a bit personally."

David is excited about this year\'s show because he thinks the results will be unpredictable.

He said: "I don\'t think anyone can call [the winner]. No one really knows who might win. Sometimes there might be someone who is the favourite all along and you think it\'s a done deal and they\'ll definitely win but it doesn\'t feel like that this year."
