Amar Adatia finds working on \'EastEnders\' is "a lot easier" than producing his own films.
The multi-talented star - whose latest independent horror movie \'The Seven\' is available now to stream and buy - has been balancing acting on the BBC soap with working on his feature projects, and he admitted there are fewer "stresses" when he is in Walford.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "It\'s a lot easier, I\'m not going to lie to you. Well, a soap is hard, is not easy. It\'s very fast paced - much quicker than a film.
"But all I\'ve gotta do is learn my lines, go in, and act - and to me, not having the other thousand and one stresses in my head, I find it a lot easier! I\'m not gonna lie.
"But I\'m lucky in a way, I\'ve still got my business partner, the team, so we\'re shooting another film next year. We\'ve got \'Ria\', another film we\'ve made, just finishing post-production now."
Although Amar\'s commitments mean his schedule might have to alter, the actor - who recently joined the soap as Jags Penesar - revealed nothing will change as he still wants to keep working on more films.
He added: "That\'s going to come out next year, so the momentum won\'t stop while I\'m doing \'EastEnders\'. I\'m not gonna bring one out every three months - maybe every six months to a year we\'ll bring a new one out.
"The momentum stays, I\'m still producing and doing what I love, I\'m still acting and doing what I love even more."
Balancing acting with his work behind the camera is nothing new for Amar, who co-produced dark comedy \'The Seven\' with Hollywood star Dean Cain and gave himself a cameo role after doing the same for his previous projects.
He said: "I started this, obviously my main portal is as an actor. But I started producing because I wasn\'t getting the right roles I wanted.
"As a producer, you go on making the films, you can\'t put yourself in everything and if you do you can\'t put yourself in the lead roles. We\'re making films for the business - if I\'ve got a role that\'s suitable I\'ll do it, if I don\'t then I won\'t."
When it comes to his latest project, Amar described \'The Seven\' as a lighthearted watch, insisting that it\'s simply a more adult take on \'Scooby Doo\' to appeal even to people who wouldn\'t normally watch a horror flick.
He explained: "We wanted to make a kind of lighthearted - your adult \'Scooby Doo\', that\'s the best way of putting it. Crossed between \'Stranger Things\', too, just an adult\'s version. It\'s an easy watch, you don\'t have to think too hard, and that\'s why we make films, for people to zone out and not think about life.
"That\'s what we wanted really, not something where you\'re on the edge of your seat, worried, anxious. There are some jumpy bits, I admit, but overall it\'s an easy watch! That\'s what we wanted."
