Megan McKenna wants \'Celebrity X Factor\' to help push her away from reality TV.
The former \'The Only Way Is Essex\' star - who has also appeared on the likes of \'Celebrity Big Brother\', and \'Celebs Go Dating\' - is keen to move away from television to focus on her music career, and she hopes Simon Cowell\'s talent show will be a big step in the right direction.
She told Daily Mirror newspaper\'s Diary column: "Hopefully this can be my crossover point, where people stop thinking of me as a reality star and start thinking of me as a musician.
"I want people to see that I\'m not just about reality TV - music is what I\'ve always wanted to do."
Earlier this year, Megan - who released her debut album \'Story of Me\' in December last year - confirmed her plans to focus "solely" on her country music.
She told BANG Showbiz at the time: "I\'m totally focused on my music at the moment. Don\'t get me wrong I\'d never say never to doing reality TV but at the moment I want it to be all about my music."
And the 26-year-old beauty previously admitted it has always been her ambition to be a singer and she loves writing songs.
She said: "Writing my own music and singing it is everything I ever wanted.
"People think I\'ve just been on reality TV for the last few years but I\'ve actually been working on my music behind closed doors.
"It\'s hard [to write songs] but I\'ve always written things in my diary and my album is so personal that I\'m just reliving my experiences and telling my story."
\'Celebrity X Factor\' launches on ITV on Saturday (12.10.19).
