Sir Tony Robinson wants to go on \'Love Island\'.

The \'Blackadder\' star - famous for playing dimwitted Baldrick in the BBC comedy - has been offered numerous jobs on reality shows and talent competitions such as \'Strictly Come Dancing\' and \'I\'m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!\'.

However, none of those shows interest him so Tony has come up with a cunning plan to get himself in the villa and even though he maybe 73 years old he still thinks he can get toned in the gym before becoming an islander.

The \'Plebs\' actor joked to the Daily Star newspaper: "Maybe I\'ll have a crack at \'Love Island\' one day. Can you imagine?

"I\'d go down the gym for a few weeks before I did it so I\'d be really toned up!"

One show fans do want to see Tony on is a fifth series of \'Blackadder\' and he admits he\'d be keen to reprise his role as Baldrick if he could reunite with his former cast mates Rowan Atkinson, Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry and Tim McInnerny.

Richard Curtis reveals heartbreaking inspiration behind Doctor Who episode

He previously said: "I do see a version of the show coming back. There are a host of other periods in history which could be turned into a six-part \'Blackadder\' series. We\'d have to get the old group back together again. I know everyone is busy doing wonderful things, but we all have fond memories so I\'m sure we would work it out."

Each series of \'Blackadder\' covered a different period of history, including the Middle Ages, Elizabethan England, the Georgian Era and a run of episodes focused on the trenches during World War One.

Although co-creator Ben Elton has stated he doesn\'t want to bring back \'Blackadder\' - which originally ran from 1983 to 1989 - his writing partner Richard Curtis has admitted he\'d like to see Atkinson back in the titular role in a one-off special or stage show.

Tony Robinson has lost all his work to the coronavirus crisis

Curtis said: "The thing about \'Blackadder\' was, it was a young man\'s show criticising older people, saying how stupid those in authority were.

"So I did once think, \'If we ever did anything again, it should be Blackadder as a teacher in a university, about how much we hate young people.\'

"I\'m always hoping Rowan and I will do one last live show and bring on Blackadder for a 10-minute bit."
