uth Langsford would have split with Eamonn Holmes if he told her he didn\'t want children.

The 59-year-old TV presenter tried to suss out Eamonn - who has kids Declan, 30, Rebecca, 28, and Niall, 26, from his first marriage - on their second date by asking if he wanted to have more offspring further down the line.

Speaking on \'Loose Women\', the show anchor said: "I always knew, way before I met Eamonn, in my grand plan of life I saw myself as a mother, I wanted to have children.

"So, when I met him and I obviously knew he had three children from his first marriage, I did that really quickly. It was kind of like our second date.

"I didn\'t just sit him down and go, \'Hi, it\'s lovely to see you. Can I have a wine please? Now, children...\'

"I didn\'t do that, but I kind of engineered the conversation and said, \'You\'ve got children and I appreciate if you didn\'t want any more,\' because I didn\'t want to go down that road of, \'I could feel where that was going where we were falling in love.\' "

The pair have been together since 1997 and welcomed their son Jack, 17, in 2002 before tying the knot in 2010.

However, the \'This Morning\' co-hosts wouldn\'t have found their happy every after if Eamonn, 59, didn\'t want any more kids.

Ruth added: "If he\'d said, \'No, I don\'t want children,\' I would have totally understood. He had three wonderful children, and I would have said, \'You know, it\'s been lovely, let\'s not take this any further because we\'re gonna break each other\'s hearts because I\'ll either pretend that I don\'t want them then resent you.\' "
