Work starts on Blinders s6

Work is underway on the sixth series of \'Peaky Blinders\'.

Director Anthony Byrne has revealed the first episode of the next season of the gritty drama will be entitled \'Black Day\' and promised to share more teasers along the way.

He shared an image of the production script from the first episode and wrote on Instagram: "We are in pre-production on Season 6. More to come. By Order of... (sic)"

Anthony - who is the first director to last more than one season on the show - recently teased what fans can expect for Cillian Murphy\'s Tommy Shelby in the next set of episodes.

He said: "[Tommy] has to play a long game. He has to show patience and calm, when other people want to react."

Cillian recently revealed his wife, Yvonne McGuinness - with whom he has sons Malachy, 13, and Aran, 12 - feels like he\'s "not all there" when they\'re filming the show.

The 'Peaky Blinders' movie has been officially greenlit by Netflix.

He explained: "I\'m not walking around talking like Tommy all the time, but you have to be there or thereabouts.

"So she\'s right, I\'m not all there when I\'m filming. And in terms of life when we\'re filming: I don\'t socialise, I just go home, learn the lines, go to bed."

But he insisted it is important to "cancel reality for a little while" when he is working on the BBC show.

This is Cillian Murphy's next film after 'Oppenheimer.'

He said: "You have to cancel reality for a little while. Part of acting in film and television is that you have to go from sitting around in a trailer twiddling your thumbs, doing the crossword or whatever, to bang! Being in it. So if you\'re coming from a standstill, it doesn\'t work.
