ertie Carvel would "love" to return to \'Doctor Foster\' for a third series.
The 42-year-old actor played cheating husband Simon Foster opposite Suranne Jones as his on-screen wife Gemma Foster in Mike Bartlett\'s BBC drama.
The second series ended on a cliffhanger with the former couple both distraught after their teenage son Tom - played by Tom Taylor - runs away to start a new life without his warring and damaged parents.

Bertie is keen to revisit the story but accepts it will be difficult for Mike to get the "band back together" because Suranne is constantly in-demand, whilst Jodie Comer - who played his Simon\'s lover Kate Parks - has become a global star with her role as Villanelle in \'Killing Eve\'.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper\'s Hot TV column, he said: "I\'d love to do more. The fact they got our band back together and we made a second series was not a fait accompli, because nobody was under the option to do it.
"So to do it a third time would be even more complicated. Suranne certainly has not been putting her feet up. Tom Taylor is a bigger movie star than any of us and Jodie Comer\'s not exactly lazy either, so there we are. We\'ll see, though."

Berie can be seen portraying a British spy in Channel 4\'s new programme \'Baghdad Central\' which starts on Monday night (03.02.20).
\'Doctor Foster\' creator Mark previously revealed plot details for a potential third series, but he admitted any return would have to come "at the right time".
He explained: "That ending of series two leaves a lot open to come back to: where has the son Tom gone and what\'s happening to him?
"What happens to the parents? That\'s the sort of story territory we\'d be in, but it\'s not written yet.
"No one has ever put pressure on me to make more of it. I think the BBC would rather I did something new, but if we do bring \'Doctor Foster\' back it will only thrive if we do it at the right time."
