Jo Joyner wants BBC to plug \'EastEnders\' gaps with \'Shakespeare and Hathaway: Private Investigators\'.
The former soap star - who played Tanya Branning on and off from 2006 to 2018 - has suggested re-runs of the mystery drama series could be a fitting way for bosses to fill any schedule spots which need replacing.
She tweeted: "Maybe if we\'re short of Eastenders
@BBCOne could consider popping the odd #shakespeareandhathaway rerun on in the evening!
"The world needs cheering up and some escapism... #justathought (sic)"
The AGE-year-old actress stars as Luella Shakespeare opposite Mark Brenton\'s Frank Hathaway on the show, which aired its third series last month.
She previously suggested there could even be a lot of merchandise opportunities based on the programme.
She said: "I love Lu\'s accessories, and this year she wears a fun necklace with her name on it, so it would have to be a fabulous necklace. Or perhaps an old-fashioned pen like a quill, but with a bright pink feather!"
Jo\'s social media comments come after \'EastEnders\' bosses recently confirmed filming had been shut down amid the pandemic, with a reduced schedule on air.
In a statement, the Beeb explained: "In light of the spread of Covid-19, after much consideration, it has been decided that filming on \'EastEnders\' will be postponed until further notice.
"The decision was made after the latest government update. We will continue to follow the latest news and advice from the World Health Organisation and Public Health England.
"We have also taken the decision to reduce the amount of episodes we broadcast each week to two, so that we can ensure the audience can continue to enjoy \'EastEnders\' in their homes for as long as possible."
\'EastEnders\' episodes will now air on Mondays at 8pm and Tuesdays at 7:30pm.
