\'The Inbetweeners\' writers "can\'t imagine" not creating another series.

The hit comedy show - which starred Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas - came to an end in 2010, but creators Iain Morris and Damon Beesley still keep in touch with the lads and still believe a new series with the original cast is on the cards.

Iain told Digital Spy: "I love everybody involved in it so much, and we all still talk, and we\'ve got a hilarious WhatsApp group.

"And, you know, I can\'t imagine not doing something with them ever again. I don\'t know if it would be \'The Inbetweeners\'."

The duo haven\'t had any "brilliant ideas" for the characters, but they think it would be easy to film once they have a script.

Damon added: "If we could think of something and thought, \'Oh, that\'s a brilliant idea for those four characters!\' I think it would be the easiest thing in the world to just go back there and do it."

However, Simon Bird - who played geeky Will MacKenzie - has recently insisted an \'Inbetweeners\' reunion will "never" happen.

The 35-year-old actor doesn\'t believe a comeback could work with the original cast, as they are in their thirties and are too old for the crude gags that made the show so popular.

Simon - who now stars in \'Friday Night Dinner\' - said: "I think the reason that show worked is because the characters are kids, so they could say the terrible, awful things they said.
