Gangs of London returning for 2nd series

\'Gangs of London\' is to return for a second series.

The first season of the crime drama was a huge hit when it was released earlier this year, becoming the biggest Sky Original drama launch on Sky Atlantic of the past five years, and the acclaimed show has been commissioned for another run.

"It\'s dark, dangerous and we are thrilled it is coming back for a second series."

AMC has picked up the US TV rights for the hit series, which stars the likes of Joe Cole, Sope Dirisu, Lucian Msamati and Michelle Fairley.

The US TV channel is also joining as a co-producer for series two.

Dan McDermott, the president of original programming for AMC and co-president of AMC Studios, has hailed \'Gangs of London\' as an "explosive crime series".
