Vicky Mcclure dementia documentary to get spin-off

Vicky McClure\'s dementia documentary is set for a spin-off show.

The \'Line of Duty\' actress - whose grandmother Iris passed away in 2015 after suffering from the disease - previously brought together singers with some form of the condition for \'My Dementia Choir\', and BBC bosses are now planning a new two-parter.

The 37-year-old actress has reunited with some of the choir members, as well as meeting new recruits, to perform once again. She will also be looking for new ways to treat the disease.

BBC Director-General Lord Tony Hall said of \'My Dementia Choir\': "It\'s a really moving piece of television."

Vicky previously promised the documentary - which looked at the scientifically-supported relationship between dementia and music - would tell a "beautiful story".

She said: "This project is an education piece and a beautiful story.

"I hope someone might get something from it. It might make someone\'s life easier, people might realise how powerful music is. My nana is going to leave a legacy now and I am really proud of her for that."

It was previously proposed that the BBC One show would get a follow-up shortly after it aired, as producers were incredibly proud of the documentary.

A source said at the time: "There hasn\'t been this kind of confidence surrounding a BBC documentary since the last David Attenborough nature show.
