Boy George slams 'nasty' treatment of children on 'The Voice Kids'

oy George has slammed the treatment of children on \'The Voice Kids\' as "nasty".

The 59-year-old star - who has worked as a coach on both \'The Voice UK\' and \'The Voice Australia\' - hit out at judges will.i.am, Paloma Faith, Pixie Lott and Danny Jones for sitting with their backs to the contestants, even though it is the standard format on \'The Voice\' shows.

He tweeted: "Against no turns on The Voice Kids. The patronising comments don\'t work. F*** teaching them to be tough. It\'s nasty."

Meanwhile, Paloma recently revealed that working on \'The Voice\' gave her "anxiety" but \'The Voice Kids\' has brought her "pure joy in bucketloads".

She said: "I feel like the main show gave me a lot of anxiety, but this gives me pure joy in bucketloads.

"You see it with your own eyes, how growing up and becoming an adult gives us inhibition, self-doubt ... But we all, at some point when we were kids, had a purity and our talents could really shine.

"I feel like it\'s about not patronising them, so just saying: \'Take a breath, you\'re brilliant.\'

"It\'s about encouragement, it\'s not about drawing attention to it because kids are really aware of embarrassment and stuff, probably as much as adults would be.

"It\'s not supposed to be a defining moment for any of them. I wouldn\'t do a show that was giving that pressure to kids."
