The most spooky family in TV and film history is set to return in a brand new live-action. This new project will be in the hands of the creepy film director Tim Burton.
Although the project is still at an early stage, Deadline has reported that the director of A Nightmare Before Christmas may be behind this new reencarnation of The Addams Family.
The writing of this new live-action will be in charge of Alfred Gough and Miles Millarde. They worked as Smallville developers.
The Adams Family is a creation of cartoonist Charles Addams dating back to the 1930s. Since then, the popular family has featured in two television series and a film series.
The '90s film adaptations have become cult classics amongst generations. The first thing that comes to mind for many of us when we think of The Addams Family is Anjelica Houston in her elegant black dress.
Last year, The Addams Family returned to the big screen in children's animation format. This fun adaptation was a big hit last Halloween season. Even a sequel has even been announced for October 2021.
The animated adaptation features movie stars like Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, Chloe Grace Moretz and Bette Midler in the voices of Gomez Addams, Morticia Addams and Wednesday Addams respectively.
Deadline's report states that this new adaptation will take place in the current times, where Tiktok and Fornite are very popular among young people.
The series will be written in the perspective of Wednesday living in the middle of 2020, so we will probably see references to the coronavirus crisis.
We are sure that this new live-action will be a success, and although it has not yet been confirmed by any platform, it seems Netflix is already interested in acquiring the story.
