The Singer and songwriter Christina Aguilera close the year strong at the People's Choice Awards.
She will be the first recipient of the Music Icon Award at the upcoming People's Choice Awards.
All this because in her musical career she has managed to become "the voice of a generation".
NBC was in charge of announcing the news and it will be the PCA nominee Becky G who will present the award
to Aguilera at next week's ceremony.
"There is a reason Christina Aguilera is referred to as 'the voice of our generation.'
Not only does she have an extraordinary voice, but as a creator, she produces music that evokes true
emotions and resonates with so many different demographics.
Christina is an idol and we can't wait to celebrate her successes and present her with the
inaugural 'Music Icon' award," NBC's Jen Neal stated in a press release.
In addition to receiving the award, Christina will take the stage at the PCAs for the second time to perform
her most important songs that will culminate in her long-awaited Spanish-language album.
In fact, this will be his first Spanish-language album in more than two decades, since the release of Mi Reflejo in 2000.
Aguilera spoke a bit about her upcoming album and commented "This album is a coming full circle moment for me.
It's been something I've wanted to do for many years. I have an incredible team behind me that supports me."
