On several occasions, Selena Gomez has worked in series and movies.
However, some time ago, she started her career as a producer.
It was on "13 Reasons Why" where the actress, businesswoman, and singer shined doing the behind-the-scenes work.
She liked the production very much, so she is currently part of new fiction.
However, Selena Gomez will have a new challenge this time, as it is a Spanish-language series.
This Tuesday, Univision Television Corporation announced that Selena Gomez would be the producer
of the series "Mi Vecino, el Cartel."
The Series will be available on Univision's streaming platform to be launched in 2022.
In addition, according to the Hispanic network, Selena Gomez will produce the series with July Moon Productions.
"I am a fan of series about real crimes, and the murder case of Juan Guerrero Chapa immediately interested me.
Not only did it take place near where I grew up in Texas, but it is also a story like no other," Selena said in a statement.
"Mi Vecino, El Cartel," tells the story of the murder of Guerrero Chapa, a former cartel lawyer who
collaborated at a high level with the U.S. government and also narrates the investigation and trial.
According to the prosecution's study, Guerrero Chapa was murdered on the afternoon
of May 22, 2013, when he was shopping with his wife in a public place in Southlake.
The documentary series featuring the singer will have three parts.
Moreover, the series will explore how the murder revealed the networks of Mexican cartels in the United States.
Also, the clash between the sumptuous life of Southlake, Texas, and the dark world of drug cartels, which
has shaken the city, reported Univision.
