Karen Gillan, known for her role as Nebula in multiple Marvel movies, is starring in the new sci-fi thriller 'Dual',
written and directed by Riley Stearns, just had a broad release in theaters after premiering for the first time
on the Cannes festival 2021, where it received a moderated amount of praise and was deemed a successful dark
comedy/thriller overall.
Currently, the film has 6.9 stars on IMDb and 74% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a lot of mixed opinions about
the plot that sometimes is a little too predictable to be a thriller.
Following Sarah, after receiving a terrible diagnosis, letting her know she's terminally ill, and with the possibilities
that this future provides, she decides to protect her family from the pain of losing her, cloning herself, and that way
the clone can train to act like herself, and be the perfect replacement after she's gone for good. But everything
turns dark sided when Sarah receives a new diagnosis letting her know that she win the battle against her illness,
meaning that she's no longer going to die, and in this new society where clones exist, you're not allowed to exist
alongside your clone past the time limit, therefore she's going to have to fight for her life against her clone to
decided which one of them is going to survive.
Of course, this is where the plot goes in the desired direction, having to watch Sarah training to beat her clone while
also living with her.
An interesting twist in this universe, and with an amazing performance from Karen, having to portray two characters
at the same time.
If you are looking for a sci-fi movie to keep you rightfully entertained, this might be the one for you.
