This Monday we celebrated one of the most important nights for the music industry: the Grammy's 2022,
one of the most awaited award ceremonies of every year, and just in case you haven't been online much, or just
missed the show because you were busy doing something else, we did a quick compilation of the highlights
of the night, including the winners of the major categories like 'Record of the Year', 'Album of the Year'
and 'Song of the Year'.
Olivia Rodrigo won 3 awards in her first year being nominated to the Grammys, turning into one of the youngest
Grammy winners with only 19 years and she bagged some of the major categories as well, categories that some artists
with much more trajectory and experience only wish to win someday.
And Bruno Mars also won 'Song of the Year', with his single 'Leave The Door Open', having one of the longest
win-streaks in the Grammy's history, having won 14 categories back to back, demonstrating that he's a force
to be reckoned with even if he's not putting out music as constantly as he should in the past couple of years.
And the biggest surprise of the night, of course, came when the winner for 'Album of the Year' was announced, with
some fierce competition on the line, like Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, H.E.R and Doja Cat, but the one who ended
up winning the category was Jon Batiste, with his album 'We Are'. A lot of the turmoil happened on social media after
the results aired, since a lot of people were claiming that nobody knew this artist, and therefore his work was
undeserving of receiving an award, but this served as a reminder that these awards are about talent and the
quality of your music, and has less to do with your numbers on Spotify.
It was a night full of surprises, but a lot of them were great, and we cannot wait to see what music artists have
to bring to the table this 2022, and who will be in the 2023 nominees.
