Janelle Monáe to star as Josephine Baker in TV show

Multitalented and awarded singer, actress, and songwriter Janelle Monáe is set to star in the new A24 production

'De La Resistance', a TV Show about the French Resistance in the World War II, with Janelle playing the part

of Josephine Baker, known for her prolific career in entertainment and being named a

"Chevalier of the Légion d'honneur" after helping the resistance and therefore her country during the war.

It's no surprise for anyone hearing this Exclusive, that she will be playing Josephine, after she has expressed

multiple times that Josephine Baker is one of her biggest references, and

she's even producing the show alongside A24, helping the company expand its TV shows catalog, that

at the moment is somewhat limited, although they have expressed their intention to make it wider, and

add new titles to it, with 'De La Resistance' being the one closer to release for all we know at the moment.

We don't know what to wait for in the script, or the approach that they're taking with anything, but can expect

the unexpected coming from A24, which, of course, usually takes the most hectic approach to their productions.

But is a real-life story after all, so we already know what happened, therefore leaving us wondering

what they have to bring to the table for this one.
