South American Elon Musk has confirmed this Thursday the purchase of the social network Twitter. In fact, Musk assures that the purchase is "for the good of civilization". The purchase was completed with just over 24 hours remaining before the expiration of the deadline given by a judge to open a lawsuit if the purchase was not formalized.
The owner of Tesla and SpaceX issued through the social network itself a message "to the advertisers" of Twitter in which he wants to explain the reasons that lead him to buy the network and cites first of all that "it is important for the future of civilization to have a common digital square where a broad spectrum of beliefs can be debate in a healthy way".
In the message sent to the masses, Musk acknowledges that there is a large-scale risk of increasing public opinions, such as: the extreme right and the extreme left. This is something that other media outlets have fallen into, however, he wants to help overcome this risk 'to help humanity'. Contrary to what many believe, that is Elon's real reason for buying Twitter, and not to 'make money', as many people believe. The tycoon says that according to his vision Twitter "cannot become a free-for-all hell, where you can say anything without consequences", but must "respect the laws". According to Elon, Twitter must become "a warm and welcoming place for all users" where he says "you can choose your desired experience according to your preference".
Not least, Musk also clarified that advertising will have a relevant place in the app. According to him, ads, "if well understood, can entertain, please and inform."
