The end of Stranger Things is very close and the writers of the series are preparing for it, taking different ideas into account. In fact, the production of one of Netflix's most popular series already started its production and it did it during the summer. Since then, the creators of this wonderful universe have been working on how to give the best closure to one of the most watched series in recent years. During this process, it is inevitable to pay attention to references that fit with the usual tone of Hawkins, although this time they will not look too far.
As brothers and creators Matt and Ross Duffer point out, the series is at a high point never before seen in Stranger Things. "The success of the first season scared us and then we knew we had to build this bigger world, that it was going to be something with development," the filmmakers acknowledged, according to Tudum, and for this they gave free rein to propose a multitude of ideas. Obviously, there were few ideas that we saw on screen, therefore, the others were left aside, however, these ideas may come to life in the fifth season of the series.
"It was too much. About five times or ten times as many ideas as we needed. For Season 5, we're drawing heavily on those ideas from Season 2…. A lot of our big finale is pulled from things we thought would be in season two," they also said. However, reusing old ideas is not something new, as they had already started to do it in the fourth season, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was not fully implemented.
