So far, very little is clear about Blade. Despite the film being announced in the summer of 2019, four years ago, the development of the reboot has not been satisfactory. However, it seems that the project is still on track, as Nic Pizzolatto, the creator of True Detective (85%), will help write the film from an already completed draft. Variety has reported that Nic will take the position of writer on the production of the Blade remake. Marvel's vampire hunter movie is in the hands of filmmaker Yann Demange and in fact, fans knows the movie as "darker than most of the MCU movies".
Oscar winner Mahershala Ali will play the titular character. Supposedly, it was the actor's dissatisfaction with the previous version of the film that led the studio to restructure the project. It is unknown, so far, what exactly it will be about and whether it will be another origin story for the hero starring Wesley Snipes in his own trology.
Everyone knows Pizzolatto for the series True Detective. The first season wowed critics and fascinated audiences as it told the story of a pair of officers investigating a serial killer who performs disturbing rituals on his victims. Although consecutive seasons did not have the same impact, some of that sense of mystery and horror would not go amiss for the vampire hunter.
In fact, the few rumors that have surfaced about Blade is that it will be set in the 1920s. Of course, none of thi its official by Marvel and in fact, so far, there has only been one reference to vampires in the first season of Loki (96%). This occurs in a brief scene in which Mobius mentions that they are fierce creatures and very difficult to catch.
