Robert Eggers is a director who everyone love for his works such as 'The Witch' or 'The Lighthouse,' incredible films that not only stand out for their direction but also for other cinematographic components such as the actors or the script. This is why fans are always waiting for news about the director's new projects, and in fact, Robert has long been developing a production that will either amaze or scare everyone. Fans of the filmmaker can't wait to see Robert's Nosferatu remake, not only because it's another work by the director, but also because of the actors we'll see in the film. The film, in fact, has already finished shooting, on May 19th to be exact, after three months of shooting in Prague.
Robert Eggerts originally wanted the lead in his Nosferatu remake to be Anya Taylor-Joy, however, this was not possible due to the actress being busy with the production of the prequel film to Mad Max: Fury Road at the time. Instead, Robert decided to go for actress Lily-Rose Depp, daughter of controversial actor Johnny Depp, whose name has been in the news lately for her starring role in Sam Levinson's 'The Idol' series. Joining the actress will be Bill Skarsgard, Willem Dafoe and others such as Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson and Simon McBurney.
On the other hand, cinematographer Jarin Blaschke said that the film has been "shot in color, with a look reminiscent of 19th century Romanticism."
Nosferatu is "a gothic story of obsession between a tormented young woman (Depp) in 19th century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire (Skarsgard) who stalks her, bringing with him an indescribable horror."
