Kim Cattrall, known for being part of the series Sex and The City, returns with a dramatic comedy. But, this time on Netflix. The plot unfolds in the fascinating world of makeup and influencers, a field that has been popular for years, but so far nothing like this has made it to streaming. "Glamorous is the story of Marco Mejia, a gender non-conforming young queer man trapped in a stagnant existence until he lands a job working for Madolyn Addison, the legendary makeup mogul. In fact, this experience will be Marco's first opportunity to reflect on what he wants out of life, discover his authentic personality and find out what being queer means to him," summarizes the official synopsis.
The protagonist of the series is Marco (played by Miss Benny), a makeup influencer who lands a job at Madolyn Addison's (Cattrall) company, a supermodel who has just launched her own makeup brand that takes the name Glamorous. Marco finds himself dazzled by the luxurious surroundings to which he has always aspired to belong, but soon finds himself confronted with the difficulties of the real working world as he is taken on an unexpected journey of love, maturity and self-discovery.
"I'm excited for our show. I'm excited for the whole show," Miss Benny expressed about her role. "Having a melting pot of the LGBTQ+ community on television is so rare, isn't it?" the celebrity who identifies as non-binary states. "I don't know about you, but I live in such a homo-normative world. Every time I see something where there's just a gay character surrounded by a bunch of straight people, I think, 'I've never seen that in real life,'" he said adamantly.
Glamorous is now streaming on Netflix.
