Kim Cattrall returns as Samantha Jones in 'And Just Like That.'

Shortly before the premiere of the second season of "And Just Like That", it was official that a beloved character will return to continue the story. It is actress Kim Cattrall, who will play Samantha Jones again and will complete the original cast of "Sex and the City" in this spin-off. However, she will only appear in an episode where she will have a telephone conversation with the protagonist Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, according to Variety.

To carry out the scene, which was filmed in March in New York City, Kim Cattrall did not have to see or speak with any of the stars of the series, nor with creator Michael Patrick King. But the return of Samantha Jones to the plot of the HBO Max series is temporary, as it is not official that the character will continue in the story.

The reason for Kim not participating in the spinoff is that in 2016, Cattrall publicly said she would no longer play the character that won her a Golden Globe in 2003, after considering that Samantha Jones had not had a fair personal development in the script of the third "Sex and the City" movie, which, in the end, did not develop.

All this ended up generating a great distance between the actress and the creator of this universe, Sarah Jessica Parke, putting an end to their friendship. As a result, as the spinoff series 'And Just Like That' was beginning to take shape, actress Kim Cattral never got the call to stand alongside her former co-stars.

In fact, the second season of "And Just Like That" will premiere on June 22, but the scene featuring Samantha Jones won't air until August.
