David Fincher, known for directing critically acclaimed productions, returns with a new thriller, The Killer, which will release on Netflix in November. The film stars Oscar-nominated actor Michael Fassbender and just revealed the first look for the movie. In the trailer shared Tuesday, a killer is embarking on an international manhunt where he will confront his bosses and corrupt himself. "Stick to your plan. Trust no one. Stick to the plan. Reject empathy. Stick to the plan. Anticipate, don't improvise. Stick to the plan. Never give up an advantage. Stick to the plan. Fight only the battle you are paid to fight. Ask yourself: 'What's in it for me? Stick to the plan. Trust no one. Empathy is weakness. Weakness is vulnerability. That's what it takes if you want to succeed. Simple," is what Fassbender's character is heard saying in the intriguing trailer.
Linked to the project since 2007, Fincher initially considered producing The Killer under Paramount Pictures with Brad Pitt as a possible lead. Later, the project moved to the "N" giant, where the filmmaker has had a successful history with series such as House of Cards and Mindhunter. In addition, in 2020, he released for the platform his feature film Mank, inspired by the creation of the classic film Citizen Kane. The cast of the title goes beyond Fassbender, with a cast that includes Tilda Swinton, Charles Parnell, Arliss Howard and Sophie Charlotte. These actors are expected to bring nuanced performances to a narrative centered on the complex psyche of a killer.
The film's global release on Netflix will be on November 10 and fans are already impatient to see it.
