The famous story of The Fall of the House of Usher is coming to Netflix from contemporary horror master Mike Flanagan, the creator of the Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass. In fact, this Thursday, the platform a new poster of the limited series that will feature eight episodes and will be based on the horror tale written by Edgar Allan Poe. In addition, it will launch in October of this year and is the fourth Flanagan title that will be part of the streaming plataform. Bruce Greenwood stars in the miniseries, which is "a journey rife with horror, greed and, of course, tragedy" (one of the fundamental elements of Allan Poe's literature). The actor replaced Frank Langella in the title role after the latter was removed from the production in April 2022 due to an investigation related to misconduct on set.
The Fall of the House of Usher, written in 1839, was the inspiration for television fiction. The main themes he addressed in his time were madness, family and loneliness; all framed by the gloomy tone that became the hallmark of the writer, symbol of the gothic novel.
