Unfortunately for its fans, Sex Education is saying goodbye with its fourth season, which has just arrived on Netflix and will be the definitive closure to a series that has been accompanying us since 2019. Otis, Maeve, Eric and company say goodbye, and so it is also the time to look back and reflect on the passage through the series and what it has meant to each of them. Ncuti Gatwa, who plays Eric Kwabena Effiong in the series, has been one of the first to speak out after the series finale, and has also taken the opportunity to reveal some of his deepest thoughts regarding his experience in the series.
In the series Gatwa gives life to a kind boy and good friend of his family, but his homosexual condition has caused him bullying problems for many years before. Not in the same way, but the actor does confess to have felt displaced on more than one occasion as happens to his character in the series. "I've dealt with racism all my life, and while I've always believed in myself, I also knew they were stupid and rude, I guess it warped my way of seeing how the world works," the actor commented in a recent interview.
Ncuti Gatwa has been one of the great discoveries of the Sex Education along with Emma Mackey. In fact, he was part of the cast of Barbie, the highest grossing movie of the year. However, his work does not stop there, since he was recently announced with another great role that is a great reward for his effort and a privilege for any actor: to give life to the new Doctor Who.
