Netflix has officially announced the start of production of the third season of the LGBT+ series Heartstopper. The news is now official due to Netflix's post on its instagram accounts in which Alice Oseman, the creator of the original comic book on which the fiction is based, appears holding the clapperboard that signals the beginning of filming as anticipated after the end of the second part released earlier this year.
Actors Kit Connor and Joe Locke, who play the main characters Nick and Charlie, will return once again for this new installment along with their co-stars with more youthful and romantic dramas. The red "N" had already released an image with the cover of the first episode's script, which is titled Love, which had excited fans during the strike. Now, after the end of the conflict that paralyzed a large number of screenwriters, the fiction will be back on the set. In addition, the main actors have been spotted filming the beach episode, which fans of the comic will already know what it's about. In the images Kit Connor is kissing Joe Locke in their respective roles. Other actors such as Yasmin Finney, William Gao and Kizzi Edgell also appear in the video.
In fact, Alice Oseman has previously hinted that the new season will maintain the essence of the comics. The British writer and illustrator has stressed that the theme of love will be central to the development of the plot and that the emotional complexities that define the relationship between Nick and Charlie will play out in the future.
There is still no premiere date for the season, but it could arrive in the middle of 2024.
