The End We Start From, the new from Jodie Comer, unveiled its teaser a month ago following its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film, billed as an "apocalyptic drama with a moral" , adapts Megan Hunter's hit 2017 novel of the same name. In the first teaser trailer, the Killing Eve actress plays a woman who must face two new worlds: motherhood and a natural disaster that sweeps across London. To get her newborn son to safety, she must embark on a journey back to her parents' home as an environmental crisis unleashes chaos all around her.
Now, new images from the film have arrived where we can see Jodie Comer trying to get through the chaos of the disaster that surrounds her, while in the other one she seems to be having a date before it all started and in the last image, she appears with another mother and her newborn, with whom she probably shares the same goal: to get to a safe place for her children. This British production is backed by SunnyMarch, Hera Pictures and BBC Films with financial backing from BFI, C2 Motion Picture Group and Anton, with the latter also handling international sales.
In addition to Jodie Comer, the British production features performances by such well-known actors as Benedict Cumberbatch, Katherine Waterston and Mark Strong. Filmmaker Mahalia Belo is in charge of the direction, from a script by Alice Birch, one of the directors of the Normal People series. As for its theatrical release, 'The end we start from' will hit theaters in the United States on December 8. Many fans are counting down the days for this premiere.
