As part of its digital event, Geeked Week, Netflix revealed a first look at its upcoming animated series inspired by the Jurassic Park universe. In fact, this new spin-off of the franchise goes by the name Jurassic World: Chaos Theory.
The new production will function as a direct sequel to Camp Cretaceous, which ran for five seasons on the Netflix screen and all indications are that it will be in direct dialogue with it. The teaser trailer for the Jurassic World universe animated project focuses primarily on an intense scene of a helicopter chasing a Tyrannosaurus Rex across a busy highway. However, a surprising final moment seems to confirm the return of the main character from its predecessor: Darius Bowman.
Darius was one of the most important characters in Camp Cretaceous and, although no one knows his level of participation in this production, his arc has a lot of room to grow after the end of that series. It is worth remembering that Darius went from being a video game geek to one of the most important pieces for the survival of his group.
"After the park closes, after the fall of the kingdom, a new era of chaos begins. Jurassic World: Chaos Theory will arrive on Netflix in 2024″, reads the statement that complemented the series trailer. Although there are still no details about the voice cast, this new iteration of the franchise has the executive production of Steven Spielberg and Colin Trevorrow, both directors of the film saga. The studio in charge of the animation is DreamWorks Animation, responsible for franchises such as Shrek and Kung Fu Panda.
Jurassic World: Chaos Theory will arrive on the platform with its first season in 2024.
