"I have a surprise for you," proudly announced actor Alan Ritchson (Fast X) in a video released during the Prime Video panel at Comic Con Experience Brazil. "We're on the set of Reacher season 3 right now - officially, we're on!." With the star's words, it was more than official that the adventures of the former military investigator will extend beyond the second installment, which will premiere on December 15. His renewal for a third installment marks a vote of confidence in the fiction, a title that stands out from critics for its mix of intrigue and action.
The streaming series is based on the novels by Lee Child and centers on the character of Jack Reacher (Ritchson), who possesses keen intelligence and other physical skills from his training as a military police investigator. In this season, the man has to leave his nomadic life after receiving a message that a former elite partner is dead. "He and some of his former colleagues reunite to investigate and quickly realize that the case is bigger than they imagined," states the official premise. The new chapters takes inspiration from the eleventh book "Bad luck and trouble" and st out the agent's reunion with Frances Neagley (Maria Sten), Karla Dixon (Serinda Swan) and David O'Donnell (Shaun Sipos) in a context that leads them to question loyalty within their own ranks.
In fact, a preview of the second season was also presented at CCXP. Two brief minutes are enough to show off two great strengths of the project: the narrative tension and the figure of Jack as a hero.
