After a successful debut in 2022, the second season of House of the Dragon has already agreed its return date, in addition to presenting its first trailer during its panel at CCXP 2023. But the news about Westeros does not end there. Now George R.R. Martin, creator of the popular Game of Thrones franchise, revealed some details about what we can expect from the new installment and confirmed that he began to outline the arc that will cover both the third and fourth seasons.
In a recent post to his blog, the author of Fire and Blood recounted his trip to London, which included a visit to the studio where House of the Dragon was filmed and a meeting with the writers. "I spent two days locked in a room with Ryan Condal and his team of writers talking about the third and fourth seasons of House of the Dragon. They were lively and fun discussions, and we were able to do a good job," stated George R.R. Martin. "There's so much ground to cover that I'm not sure 20 days would have been enough," he added.
Earlier this year it was reported that the creative team had planned for House of the Dragon to last between 3 and 4 seasons, so it makes sense that they are plotting a full arc. Regarding the new batch of episodes, George R.R. Martin revealed that he also got to see rough cuts and was very excited about the outcome. " I have to say, I thought both episodes were just great. (And they are not even finished yet.) Dark, mind you. Very dark. They may make you cry. (I did not cry myself, but one of my friends did.)"
