What If…? is one of the best projects Marvel has today. A week ago, on December 22 more precisely, the second season of the animated series that tells multiversal stories premiered on the Disney Plus platform. This second season was released in an atypical way, leaving aside the weekly chapter premieres and starting to release one chapter per day for 9 days.
With one day left in this season's daily premieres on the Disney Plus streaming platform, Marvel Studios confirmed via a clip and sneak peek the renewal of the series for one more season. It's official, "What If…?" will return for a third season in 2024 within the platform.
Although details are scarce, this teaser shows us characters such as Bucker Barnes, The Red Guardian and Bill Foster in a chase. One point that stands out is that the policewoman we also see is Ranger Morales. While there is no official information at the moment, this character could well be related to the family of Miles Morales, a hero we have yet to see in the MCU. Regarding the future of What If… ?, this is what Bryan Andrews, the series' director, had to say in an interview with Deadline:
"We can expand and things can get a little crazier. We take it to the next level in season 2 and then in season 3 we get even crazier. In season 2, we have different characters that we haven't really had a chance to play with before and we see how they will integrate with some of the returning favorites. There's a lot of really interesting stuff and I can't wait for people to see it."
While you wait, you can watch the first two seasons on Disney+.
