Netflix has unveiled the teaser for its new sci-fi film, Spaceman, starring Adam Sandler. The film, which will premiere at the upcoming Berlin Film Festival, will arrive in a select group of theaters on February 23 and on the streaming platform on March 1. In fact, It is directed by Johan Renck, known for his work on the HBO miniseries Chernobyl. Also, the plot is based on the novel The Bohemian Astronaut published in 2017 by Czech author Jaroslav Kalfař. The story follows an astronaut named Jakub, played by Sandler, who after six months on a lonely research mission in the far reaches of the solar system, begins to doubt whether the marriage he left on Earth will be waiting for him upon his return.
In an effort to repair his relationship with his wife, Lenka, played by Carey Mulligan, Jakub finds support in a mysterious creature hidden in his ship, Hanuš, voiced by Paul Dano, a kind of space spider that will help him understand what went wrong, while reminiscent of what might happen if Ridley Scott's Alien were a dramatic comedy. The feature film features Kunal Nayyar, Lena Olin and Isabella Rossellini in the cast. Colby Day wrote the screenplay, meanwhile, the producers are Channing Tatum, Reid Carolin, Peter Kiernan, Michael Parets, Tim Headington, Lia Buman and Max Silva.
