Love versus duty. This is the cross-cutting theme that has accompanied the series Young Royals since its debut on Netflix three years ago. Now, the platform has confirmed the premiere date of the story's final season. The original Swedish production tackles an LGBTI romance between two teenagers, and has been praised for its faithful portrayal of its characters. The episodes that will define the future of Prince Wilhem and the charismatic Simon will be available on the platform this March 11.

The plot of the juvenile fiction takes place in Hillerska, a prestigious boarding school. This is the place where Wilhem meets Simon Eriksson, a commoner and member of the choir, and then, a romance begins that defies the establishment. Real intrigue and personal growth that co-creator Lisa Ambjörn always envisioned as a three-part story. "The ending was always clear to me from the beginning, and I am grateful and honored to get to finish this tale as I intended," she wrote when production of the third installment was official.

What will happen in the following episodes? The official sypnosis of the third season reads 'Wilhelm's speech has consequences not only in court, but also for the entire school, as Hillerska faces the worst crisis in its history. The prince and Simon are ready to be together, but…. what are they willing to sacrifice as they realize that their freedom and love could be at odds with royal ideals, traditions and responsibilities?'
