The cast of the second season of The Last of Us on HBO continues to expand, as filming is about to begin for this new batch of episodes, which we will see in 2025 on HBO Max. Now, it is official that illustrious actress Catherine O'Hara is joining the cast of the season 2, in an unconfirmed role. Everyone knows the 69-year-old Canadian actress and comedienne for comedies such as Home Alone and Beetlejuice (including its sequel this year, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice).
The cast of the second season of the series has expanded significantly. In addition to Bella Ramsay (Ellie), Pedro Pascal (Joel) and Gabriel Luna (Tommy), three young additions were recently announced: Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina and Young Mazino as Jesse. The season will chronicle the events of the part 2 of the game. In fact, the 2020 video game is now on PS5 with a new roguelike game mode.
However, it is now official that the series will last beyond this season, that it will not necessarily pick up the entire story of the game, and perhaps split or expand for the third season. And who knows what the future will bring...
In it, Neil Druckmann has practically confirmed that The Last of Us Part 3 will happen. "I've been for years thinking, is there an idea there? And for years I haven't been able to find that idea. But that's different now. I still don't have a story, but have that idea, and for me it's as exciting as The Last of Us Part 1 and Part 2. Even though it's a standalone thing, there's a line that ties all three together."
