A whirlwind of changes awaits Riley Andersen in 'Inside Out 2', the sequel to the Disney and Pixar film where human emotions are small characters in the Riley's mind. This time, viewers will meet the protagonist as she goes through adolescence and all the challenges of growing up. This also means the emergence of new emotions that we can already see in the new official trailer of the film. Anxiety, Envy, Ennui and Shame make an appearance in Riley's mind, where there used to be only 5 emotions.
From what we see in the teaser, it won't be difficult to empathize with the girl who begins to experience different feelings as she enters high school. A conflict thus arises over who will take control of her social interactions. "Riley's life requires more sophisticated emotions than you do," argues Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke, who is destined to shake things up at HQ.
Anxiety is a "a bundle of exhausting energy" that makes Riley alert for any negative outcome. We will also meet Envy (Ayo Edebiri). Despite her harmless appearance, she induces jealousy over everything others have, "and she's not afraid to pine for it." Lying on a sofa. That is the first image of Ennui, (Adèle Exarchopoulos) who represents boredom and apathy. Finally, Shame (Paul Walter Hauser) is a corpulent being with a rosy complexion who tries to go unnoticed.
The voice actors are Amy Poehler as Joy, Lewis Black as Rage, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Tony Hale as Fear and Liza Lapira as Disgust.
Directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen, the film extends one of Disney and Pixar's most successful franchises nine years after the release of the first film. The feature film won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature, as well as 10 Annie Awards. It was an unqualified box office success, grossing $800 million against a budget of $175 million.
Inside Out 2 will arrive in U.S. theaters on June 14.
