After taking the world by storm with his Oscar performance, Ryan Gosling is back to shine in his next film, The Fall Guy. The story is based on the early 80's action series of the same name, starring Lee Majors, known for playing The Six Million Dollar Man.
In the film, we follow a stuntman who does everything for the entertainment of the audience: he flies through the air, crashed, thrown out of windows and thrown from greater heights. After quitting the business a year earlier due to an accident that nearly ended his career, this working class hero once again performs the most outrageous stunts in a film in secret from the studio and the media, in the face of the disappearance of his leading man.
As he tries (not very successfully) to win back the trust of his beloved Jody, the mystery surrounding the missing star deepens. Thus he finds himself caught up in a sinister criminal plot that will push him to the edge of a fall more dangerous than any stunt. In addition to Gosling, the cast includes Emily Blunt, Hannah Waddingham, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Winston Duke, Stephanie Hsu, and Lee Majors himself.
In fact, the film recently debuted on the most famous movie review platform, Rotten Tomatoes, currently holding a 94% critical rating. A sign that clearly indicates that we are looking at a future bluckbuster film. Also, most of these are positive. Aaron Peterson of The Hollywood Outsider says 'Gosling and Blunt are enchanting together, and David Leitch raises the volume and intensity with every stunt and action set-piece. It’s also exactly the type of bombastic fun that demands to be seen on the biggest screen possible.'
