Horror cinema is in one of its best moments. Every year new horror films and series are released, making it clear that it is a genre on the rise and where the ideas of the directors are always welcome. And to continue proving it, the trailer of a new film with a unique premise has just arrived. Late Night With The Devil is the new film from the Cairnes Brothers, a pair of directors who have already made 100 Bloody Acres (2012) and Scare Campaign (2016). In addition, after several years without directing, they release this film in which they adopt the aesthetics of the seventies to present a late night show called Night Owls full of terrifying surprises.
The film takes us back to 1977. At this time, Jack Delroy hosts a late-night talk show known as Night Owls, which happens to be the talk show of choice for all those tortured by insomnia in the United States. However, a year after the tragic death of his wife, Jack's conviction falters and ratings suffer. To turn the situation around, he plans a Halloween night special that no one will forget, not realizing that he is about to bring evil into every home in America. This is a film in which, in addition, David Dastmalchian is, at last, the protagonist. A talent that for years we have seen on screen as a supporting actor in films such as The Dark Knight (2008) and Oppenheimer (2023).
In fact, one of the most recent news related to the film is that the rights to the Australian film have been acquired by IFC Films and Shudder.
Late Night With The Devil will hit theaters on May 24.
