The new season of Doctor Who arrives on Disney+ on May 10. Ncuti Gatwa takes command of the TARDIS alongside Millie Gibson in this new installment of the world's longest-running science fiction television series. In fact, the platform has released a trailer that promises extravagant adventures for the two travelers including monsters.. "Ruby, do you want to know my secret? I have the whole universe at my fingertips… but I'm alone. I'd love for you to come with me," Gatwa's character says to Gibson's character in the trailer. After all, every Doctor needs a companion to save the universe.
From the moment she meets the Doctor, Ruby will discover that anything is possible and although that means that the amazing world that opens up before her seems crazy, she will also understand that it is her destiny to save it. In fact, together they will explore the wonderful 1960s, the Regency era in England, war-torn futures and much more, in addition, the trailer introduces the Duchess, Indira Varma's character and announces the appearance of Callie Cooke who will have a role in the upcoming season.
"In this new season, The Doctor and his companion Ruby Sunday travel through time and space living adventures from Regency-era England to war-torn future worlds. Throughout their explorations aboard the TARDIS, a time-traveling ship shaped like a police box, they encounter incredible friends and dangerous enemies, including a terrifying bogeyman and the Doctor's most powerful foe yet," reads the synopsis of the series.
Russell T. Davies is showrunner, executive producer and screenwriter. Indeed, joining Gatwa and Gibson in the cast are Indira Varma, who plays the Duchess, Callie Cooke, Anita Dobson, Yasmin Finney, Michelle Greenidge, Bonnie Langford, Jinkx Monsoon, Jemma Redgrave, Lenny Rush and Angela Wynter, among others.
