Knives Out, Netflix's mystery saga starring Daniel Craig, is adding an outstanding cast for its new movie. According to information from Variety and Deadline, Andrew Scott will star in the platform's highly anticipated film titled: Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. The actor known for the Fleabag series will join the two new additions of Josh O'Connor (God's Own Country) and Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla) for the third Knives Out film created by Rian Johnson. Daniel Craig is also joining them. In fact, he will reprise his role as detective Benoit Blanc after appearing in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery in 2022 and Knives Out in 2019.
Daniel Craig is the only member of Netflix's original actors to continue in the third Knives Out film. The actor starred in the first installment alongside Ana de Armas, who played nurse Martha, and Chris Evans, in the role of Hugh Ransom Drysdale, Harlan's grandson. Neither appeared in the second film. Indeed, Knives Out 3, or Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, is likely to premiere on the Netflix platform in 2025. In addition, Rian Johnson, creator of the series, will direct the new adaptation with Ram Bergman, who worked on the first two films, producing.
While no official plot for the film is known, Rian Johnson, who has been writing the script to begin filming this year, said it will be “Detective Benoit Blanc's most dangerous case yet. I love everything about crime novels, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is (…) There's a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and exploring that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc film,” the director noted on his social networks.
