We can't believe that we have put three of the series that have made us laugh the most in history together in the same sentence, but we have, because both Steve Carell, who played the head of the paper company Dunder Mifflin in The Office, and the people responsible for the series Ted Lasso and Scrubs are collaborating together on a project that, as it could not be otherwise, will aim to make us laugh. Warner Bros. Television is the one behind this new comedy that will go to Max, the platform that this May 21 has come to our homes replacing HBO Max by adding more content, both included with our subscription and paid (documentaries and sports, respectively and basically).
Executive produced by Steve Carell, who can also be heard in the original version of John Krasinski's new film Imaginary Friends and an actor who is also voicing Gru again in the fourth part of the famous animated saga, this new comedy series of, for the moment, ten episodes, will be set on a college campus and will focus on the complicated relationship of an author with his daughter.
With no further details at this time, Emmy winner Bill Lawrence (Ted Lasso, Scrubs) and award nominee Matt Tarses (Scrubs, Sports Night) will also executive produce and also write the first episode.
“The combination of Steve Carell and Bill Lawrence promises to be full of big laughs, warmth and charm,” said Amy Gravitt, executive vice president, comedy programming, HBO and Max. “We are really exciting to be home to this long-awaited collaboration.” Channing Dungey, president and CEO of Warner Bros. Television, has confirmed that he is “really like to collaborate with this dream team of Steve Carell, Bill Lawrence and Matt Tarses.”
