Disclaimer, a highly anticipated new series from the Oscar-winning director Alfonso Cuarón. Known for his cinematic masterpieces such as Roma and Gravity, Cuarón is bringing his signature style to this intriguing new project. Disclaimer promises a thought-provoking exploration of themes such as truth, lies, and the blurred lines between reality and fiction. The series follows a successful novelist who finds herself entangled in a mysterious conspiracy after a young woman claims her life is based on one of the author's books.
The series starring Cate Blanchett automatically deserves media attention and a series by Cuarón, even more so. So, if both collaborate on a TV series, we have an event on our hands, at least for critics. And, after the release of images and the plot, we finally have a full trailer to see where this is all heading in Disclaimer. Blanchett portrays Catherine Ravenscroft, a journalist with an impeccable reputation. She is considered a beacon of light and justice in the world of journalism. However, this pristine image is shattered when she receives a novel from an unknown author at her home. After reading a few pages, she realizes that it recounts a personal experience she would prefer to keep buried.
The two-time Oscar winner, for The Aviator and Blue Jasmine, is joined by Kevin Kline, Oscar winner for A Fish Called Wanda; Kodi Smith-McPhee, nominated for The Power of the Dog; Lesley Manville, nominated for Phantom Thread; Sacha Baron Cohen, nominated for Borat and The Trial of the Chicago 7; and Hoyeon, winner of one SAG Award for Netflix's Squid Game. Disclaimer will premiere on Apple TV+ on October 11th with its first two episodes, with the remaining episodes airing weekly.
