Wednesday first came to Netflix two years ago. Since then, the second part has been highly anticipated for the fans. Now, we finally have updates and even a Behind the Scenes clip. Tim Burton and Jenna Ortega, fresh off the success of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, are returning to Nevermore Academy. A sneak peek from the second season of Wednesday was unveiled at Netflix's Geeked Week, giving fans a taste of what is in store for the Addams Family spin-off series, which will hit Netflix in 2025.
According to Cathering Zeta-Jones “This season is going to be bigger and more twisted than you could ever imagine,” she portrays the matriarch of the Addams Family, Morticia Addams. In an exclusive for Deadline, Jenna Ortega also adds “If we showed you anymore, your eyes would bleed,” says Ortega, who stars as the eponymous spooky teen. “And I’m not that generous.” Therefore, we can definitely anticipate a sequel worthy of the first installment, which faced several delays due to Ortega's busy schedule and the various strikes that occurred in the industry last year.
The first part follows Wednesday Addams to Nevermore Academy. There, she learns to master her emerging psychic abilities. In Season 1, she solved a killing spree connected to her parents Morticia and Gomez (Luis Guzmán) meeting at the school 15 years earlier. In addition to a whole awesome cast, Christina Ricci came back as previously starred as Wednesday in the Addams Family films and Burton’s Sleepy Hollow (1999). She appeared in the first season of the new show as Marilyn Thornhill. Burton recently revived his 1988 debut Beetlejuice with a long-awaited sequel also starring Ortega. Returning cast members include Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara.
