Ke Huy Quan, the breakout star of Everything Everywhere All at Once, is ready to star in Lionsgate's upcoming action thriller, Fairytale in New York. The film, directed by Martin Campbell (known for Casino Royale and GoldenEye), will follow Quan as a former special forces operative who must protect a young woman (yet to be cast) during the chaotic Christmas season in New York City, determined to recover a priceless Christmas gift for his child, the cabbie launches a high-stakes pursuit through the city's bustling streets. FlynnPictureCo.'s Beau Flynn will produce the film and this new role marks another significant step in Quan's career resurgence.
His performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once earned him critical acclaim and an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor as well as his role on MCU's Loki. However, Before his recent resurgence, he was a child actor, captivating audiences in iconic 1980s films such as "The Goonies" and "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom." After a 19-year hiatus from acting, Quan transitioned into a different role behind the scenes, working as a stunt choreographer on films like "X-Men" in 2000.
Following his historic Oscar win for, Ke Huy Quan will also star in the action-comedy Love Hurts for Universal Pictures and 87North. This film marks the feature directorial debut of Jonathan Eusebio, a seasoned stunt coordinator and second unit director. As for Martin Campbell, a highly acclaimed New Zealand film and television director, particularly known for his work on action-packed thrillers and iconic franchises. Joining Quan is Oscar winner Ariana DeBose from West Side Story. In addition to Love Hurts, Quan will appear in the Russo Brothers' Netflix film The Electric State, slated for release next March.
