Bridgerton star Genevieve Chenneour has revealed the continuous cycle of violence shattering her peace in London, breaking down in tears as she disclosed an assailant attacked her in the city centre just months after she bravely confronted a phone mugger.
The actress, who played the gossiping Clara Livingston in the Netflix series, described the ordeal as having left her agoraphobic and "living in fear."
The star’s trauma stems largely from a terrifying attempted phone snatching that occurred on February 8, 2025.
That morning, a notorious thief, Zacariah Boulares, 18, swooped behind Chenneour at a Joe & the Juice on Kensington High Street and grabbed her iPhone 14 Pro.
Chenneour, who attributes her rapid response to "having three brothers growing up" and being trained in boxing, reacted instantly.
She and her partner at the time, Carlo Kurcishi, took Boulares down in a struggle that turned into a five-minute "full-on scrap." The mugger threatened to stab her multiple times during the violent altercation.
The actress recalled the confrontation as "a real battle of... life and death" in her mind, prompting her to use defensive kicks.
She suffered a concussion from the fight, but her decisive action ensured the thief ultimately failed to escape with her device.
The Metropolitan Police later identified Boulares, who faced a charge for stealing the phone and common assault against Kurcishi, and the court subsequently jailed him for 22 months.
The severe mental scars, however, remain.
Chenneour recently spoke out about the profound anxiety and "agoraphobic" feelings the incident provoked, forcing her to move out of the capital because she felt so unsafe.
Her latest revelation, that an assailant attacked her again just months later in central London, underscores the brutal reality of the fear she now faces daily.
She expressed deep anxiety that Boulares, whom she believes shows "no remorse," might seek revenge upon his eventual release.
