Matthew Hyndman has broken his silence following his dramatic departure from The Traitors on Wednesday night.
The group voted the 28-year-old Faithful off during one of the most intense roundtables of the season, thanks in part to a "ceremonial dagger" twist.
Speaking after the episode, Matthew admitted that he felt completely blind-sided by the group's decision, particularly the betrayal by James Baker.
James, who held a double vote, led the charge against Matthew, ultimately convincing the majority to banish him just days before the grand finale.
Matthew explained that he had trusted James and several other members of the group, making his exit even more painful. "I honestly didn't see it coming," he said during his exit interview.
He noted that the pressure of the game and the looming final prize of £120,000 have clearly changed the dynamics in the castle.
Matthew also expressed regret over not being able to expose the remaining Traitors, Rachel and Stephen, who successfully manipulated the group into targeting him instead of them.
As Matthew watched the fallout from his banishment, he offered a warning to the remaining Faithfuls.
He believes that Rachel and Stephen are "playing a masterclass" and that the others need to wake up before it's too late.
Matthew pointed out that the Traitors’ strategy of sowing seeds of doubt among the Faithfuls worked perfectly at the latest roundtable.
He urged his former teammates to look past the surface-level arguments and focus on the subtle manipulations that eliminated so many Faithfuls.
Despite the disappointment of leaving so close to the end, Matthew shared that he is proud of how he played the game.
He leaves the castle with no hard feelings toward his fellow contestants, recognizing that The Traitors is a game of deception at its core.
As the show prepares for its final episodes this week, fans are left wondering if the remaining Faithfuls can finally unmask Rachel and Stephen or if the Traitors will walk away with the jackpot.
